Paralelo 34 is open to narrative, documentary, animation
and experimental cinema from around the world.
We do not limit filmmakers to a single genre or style. What
matters is the quality of the film, the independence of the
filmmaker’s vision and a story capable of speaking to
audiences regardless of its country of origin.

Micro Shorts — films of up to 3 minutes in which idea, drama and For the first edition, submissions are accepted in three main
categories. Select the category that corresponds to your
film’s runtime. The programme strand is determined by the
festival during the selection process.
A film may correspond to several Paralelo 34 themes. This does not require
multiple submissions.

Paralelo 34 accepts films from any country. Participation does not require belonging
to a specific national cinema or genre tradition.
The Latin America Vision strand allows the festival to give particular focus to the cinema
of the region where Paralelo 34 was born — without closing the programme to any other
part of the world.
